Musk made the shock announcement of his plans early Sunday. By Monday morning US time, he tweeted that now points to

“Interim X logo goes live later today,” he wrote, shortly before sharing a photo of Twitter’s headquarters lit up by a giant new X.

The website remained live and branding on the app version of the platform did not appear to change as of early Monday.

Twitter had 238 million active users prior to being taken private by Musk in October 2022.

Previously, Musk said he was bidding “adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.”

Twitter’s world-renowned bird logo was transformed into an X, however.

The shift from bird imagery to an "X" is the latest sweeping change since Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion last year.
